The Gabe

It was a pitcher’s duel in Game 1 at The Gabe as the Texas Oilers held off the Arlington Heat Red, 2-1. The Heat’s Christian Hallack threw seven innings and struck out eight batters. But, he was bested by Oilers LHP Chris Lacher who also threw seven innings and struck out five on his way to picking up the win and pitcher of the game. Offense was sparse, but the Heat’s Sean Harcrow went 3-3 with one run scored. Oilers’ Hayden Boyd went 2-3 with one double and two runs scored. Boyd was named hitter of the game.

Game 2 at The Gabe ended in a 4-3 victory for Arlington Heat Red over Dallas Tigers Rogatski just before the rain hit the ballfields. In the seventh, Jovanny Mijares delivered with the walk-off two-run double and was named hitter of the game. For the Tigers, Cody Masters went 2-2 with two stolen bases. And on the mound, Parker Renfro all seven innings and struck out two with the victory on his way to pitcher of the game.

The Columbia Angels beat the NTX Bandito’s, 4-2, in Game 1 at Field 7. For the Bandito’s, Zach Carrion went 2-3 with one RBI and was named hitter of the gamePhillip Sikes threw four innings and struck out six, but did not get the victory. Angels’Parker Osborn went 1-2 with two RBIs. And Owen Hart threw five innings striking out just as many (5) on his way to pitcher of the game.

In Game 1 at Field 8, D-BAT Vega defeated Gators Baseball, 7-3. For the Gators, Zachary Mahoney went 1-3 with a two-run home run. For D-BAT, Conner Mangus went 2-4 with a two-run home run. Ryan Dempsey went 3-4 with one triple and one RBI on his way to player of the game. And on the mound, Peter Diaz pitched 4.1 innings and struck out six. Diaz gave up two earned runs and was named pitcher of the game.
