“That is crushed! Left field. If it’s fair, it’s gone!”
That was the call and what we know as the beginning of “The Legend of Luken Baker.”

Baker, the freshman first baseman for TCU, has been one of the most powerful hitters in the lineup for the Frogs. It was to no surprise that he was the one to lift the Frogs to victory in TCU's CWS opener. Baker was batting a team-best .379 with nine home runs and 57 RBI before entering the tournament.
The 2015 Gatorade National Player of the Year launched a towering moonshot over the left field fence, just staying inside the foul pole, in the ninth inning to lift the Horned Frogs past Big 12 rivals Texas Tech with a 5-3 victory at TD Ameritrade Park.
The crowd of purple erupted as Baker had came through in by far the biggest moment of his collegiate career. Take a listen.

Baker’s long ball was able to seize the victory for the Horned Frogs as they now advance into the winner’s bracket to face Coastal Carolina on June 21.
