Dividing friends and families, the Route 66 rivalry between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals, is one of the most bitter rivalries in all of sports.
For many of the players, visiting enemy territory is unpleasant. From getting booed, to verbal abuse, to even objects being thrown during games, many players never get a sense of an “at home” feeling.

Carpenter’s morning usually starts with a delicious homestyle meal. Carpenter’s choice of food is Batter & Berries located on 2748 N Lincoln Avenue.
"It has a tremendous breakfast menu, the staff is extremely friendly, and it’s just a great location.”, Carpenter said about the resturaunt.
Next on the day for Carpenter is a trip to is a trip to The Second City located on 1616 N Wells Street. Carpenter enjoys the comedy club as a place to simply kick back and relax. Known for their sketch comedy, The Second City is a must see tourist attraction when visiting Chicago.
Before heading into the locker room, Carpenter likes to visit Wrigleyville located on 1060 W Addison St.. A street filled with bars and restaurants, it is fun for local and visiting fans as they can view iconic statues, visit the numerous gift shops, and dine in at a bar or restaurant and enjoy the game.
The Route 66 rivalry is one way to kick off the week as the St. Louis Cardinals will visit the MLB best Chicago Cubs in a series spanning from June 20-23.
